I use an old Roland sustain pedal with a simple on/of switch. The connection with the SD1 is with a MONO 6.3 mm jack. I'm not sure right now about the status of the switch in release position, but I think it is Normaly Closed.
Do you remember who has the same problem and on what forum ?
