A cardiod pattern will handle two singers if they are VERY close to each other. For a better separation, with only ONE mic - you want a figure 8 pattern. That way, they can face each other, and still have some degree of separation.
Avoid the "super" and "hyper" cardiod patterns if you need W I D E coverage. They are intended to block OUT signal from the sides and rear.
