Yeah, I also think it is mostly a matter of the style of playing and the registration. As I mentioned in an earlier post after I visiting a demo, the Roland guy demonstrated the tonewheel sounds more extensive after the official demo. He happened to be a gospel and blues enthusiast and made the G70 sound a lot less clean than in this demo.

I think you can easily make a vintage B3 sound like a 70's electronic organ if you don't know how to properly use the drawbars, persussion, leslie etc, and most of all do not master the special playing techniques. I'm afraid I also don't have these playing skills, although I would know my way around a B3 just because I'm really interested in it.
