Hello

While I have had great luck buying and selling on e-bay, I thought it wise to share this info with the forum.

About a week ago I wrote Bob Gelman and told him of a Tyros "package" which included speakers and stand with a buy it now for $2200. I emailed the seller to ask the normal questions like why are you selling it, is there something wrong with it etc. They never answered. However, I did receive an email from the person that found out somebody hacked into there user information. In other words, somehow this guy used another persons user name and "credentials" such as the real user had perfect user feedback. The auction was reported to ebay for fraud, and this user had his user ID changed.

Today I am looking under Tyros at ebay and they have the exact same package, the same pictures, the same description, price etc. The only thing different was the users name. This person had all good feedback also. I got in touch with the first user to verify if I was correct. I was. The only type of payment they would accept was money order or cashiers check. Pretty easy to cash and be done with it.

So in all things, use your common sense. If it sounds too good to be true it probably is. Check out the feedback of the seller. If they don't answer emails keep your eyes open, but it may be ok. I had that happen when I bought some JBL Eons at half price. But I did talk to him on the phone.

In a nutshell, ebay is great. But as in all else, keep your eyes and ears open.
