Fran Carango and I have both owned several Yorkville products and they are very high quality. They are a bit pricey for the upper end stuff, but well within the range of Mackie and Yamaha et al.
I've had the pleasure of using EAW stuff on occasion too, but I was never convinced that the extra cost was justified. In addition to being expensive, the are very HEAVY. (at least the ones I used were)
In todays market, there are so many good sounding sound alternatives for the working musician, that it should be easy to find a rig in whatever price range you are working with.
