I started this because I couldn't add to the other thread.
It is a steep learning curve with the Motif ES, but if you work with the board enough, it all starts to make sense.
I guess I just have to learn it if I want the sound quality I am looking for. I just wish it was more like an arranger format. I've said this a million times I know, but I think composing sections of a song an using the style features (intro, fill, end, variation, etc.) just seems more natural and intuitive. I want a Motif Arranger.

The incredible patterns and sounds available in the MOTIF are what I'm after (coupled with good sweet voices), but I would like to use them to create a "style" and compose that way. Oh well, time to teach this dog new tricks I guess.
P.S. Interesting thought, I wonder if the MOTIF extras like the midi sample libraries, patterns/arps, sample CDs, and voice libraries can be imported in the Tyros. Perhaps that would be one way to "slick" up an arranger. Who knows, I'm dreaming again.
