I'm here waiting for my flight out of NAMM and I have to say, line array, line array, line array. Looks like everyone is noticing the benefits of a line array system and coming out with their versions, rcf, db technologies, Community, JBL, Peavey, Crown, EV. they all had them. Beyerdynamics used a Bose PAS to demo their new vocal performance mics, and Audix, ( a favorite of mine ) had a performing guitar setup with a Bose PAS.

As for arranger set-ups we had the Tyros 3, and the Korg PA2xpro, Korg did announce a new PA500RT that will have I beleive 25 meg of middle eastern/ type styles and sounds, also they are releasing a thumb drive with a soundset and styles also for the same group, this thumb drive has a security system that will only allow it to be registered to 1 keyboard at a time, so no copies can be made.

Korg also has employed some authentic style makers for the Mexican/Americana music styles, they were very very good, and the correct versions of how the styles should sound and play, for example the cumbia style that was introduces possible back 13 years ago is still in the PA2xpro.

gotta go plane is here

Does that mean Korg will release new Mexican/latin America styles like new cumbia styles for the PA series? I have been waiting for this for a long time, since I've got my PA-800.

Thanks,
FA

Thanks for the report Frankie. Should be interesting to see the new line array systems when they hit the market.

the thumb drive with additional middle eastern styles that require a "handshake" everytime you turn on the keyboard has been out for the past year. The PA500 Middle Eastern version is new for the USA market.

This is a good step for Korg to push there keyboard to different ethnic groups, especially latino. After owning a few korgs their latino section was marginal at best. This was one of the reasons why I switched to ketron. If Korg upgrades their latino section in there next release of boards, I'll give them another try.
