I'm in an experimental metal band with no singer, I play a microKORG synth hooked up to a logitech Z5500 speaker system. I would like to hook up my laptop on stage so I could play clips of talking and yelling during breakdowns and stuff... I'm thinking one 1/8" plug into the headphone jack on the laptop to a 1/4" plug into the mixer...will this work? Here is the cable I was looking at... http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2103843&cp=2032058.2032231.2032280&pg=3&numProdsPerPage=20&parentPage=family IP: Logged |

The cable alone will not provide sufficient volume, however, a headphone booster will. You'll find them at Radio Shack also. Good Luck, Gary ------------------ [This message has been edited by travlin'easy (edited 02-12-2006).] IP: Logged |

Gary, I just bought a Koss behind the head headphones to use with my DisCover5 on stage..I pick up the stage monitor with the EV mic and it effects the sound[keyboard is taking on the characteristics of the vocalizer]...I thought the best way to solve this is the Koss headphones...but the phones are not loud enough...I would like to increase the overall volume up to 100 %.. I went with the behind the head headphones over the in the ear plugs, so I can hear my surroundings on stage..The Koss work well in this respect.. Do you think I can get this gain with the headphone booster..? [This message has been edited by Fran Carango (edited 02-12-2006).] IP: Logged |

It has been my experience that you will get about a 40 to 50 percent boost in volume using this device. Gary ------------------ IP: Logged |
