HI ALL, We are off to the Beach in the motorhome on Saturday as the temps here in sunny calif are upper 70's to 80, for several days. I will be taking the Yamaha 9000 this time. It has a hard drive in it. It will ride on the queen bed while traveling, and it will be moved from one place to another while there, maybe out to a jam or someone's home. Is this IBM harddrive going to be ok doing this. It is made for a laptop and they are moved around alot. What are the experiences and opinions of our members here. I have often taken the KN6000 and never a problem but no hard drive either. PS Anyone near Pismo Beach want to Jam let me know ![]() BEBOP IP: Logged |

HI: BEBOP Must be nice to go to the beach in the middle of November. Oh well I guess I could to if I wanted to, but it wouldn't be 70 - 80 degree's it would be more like 20 - 30, so I think I will just stay home & play the PRO. ![]() But anyway you should have no trouble with the hard drive Soooooo have a good time at the beach, & hey play a song OK ? Thank you for your reply Denny. We shall have a great time at the beach, swimming in the ocean, pigging out on seafood, playing ebb tide, etc. I feel more encouraged about the hard drive after reading your remarks. I had one in the KN3000 but it was just a drop in and I could take it out and carry it in a foam case and drop it back in when I got out the keyboard. Best setup ever built. KN6000 was a disaster so I don't have one in it. Love the one in the Yam 9000 Thanks ![]() Bebop IP: Logged |

Hi Bebop: My Technics KN5000 was outfitted with a hard drive and it was transported daily to/from gigs for almost 3 years. Never had a single problem. I of course always took extra care to avoid excessive banging, but it did receive its share of bumps, though never dropped. You should have no problems with your PSR9000 & HD if you exercise care, as I already know you do. ![]() Bebop, give my best to our Synthzone buddy Frank Bez while you're down in Pismo Beach. Btw: I've got a gig scheduled there in February, so perhaps you and Jan can plan a second trip then and catch my show. IP: Logged |
