I just bought an old TX802.
Whenever I want to change programs or the midi channel or the track in my cubase
version, the tx802 reacts with a trap error.
After the trap error appears in the display, the only thing I can do is switch off. No button or combination of buttons shows a response, and sounds cannot be played either.
Basically I donīt know what kind of error it is. There was nothing to read about in the manual.

Changing programs directly from a keyboard (with no computer connected) to the TX802 makes the error come, too. Itīs curious, but if I play the TX802 with a Yamaha keyboard (AN1x), everything works fine, so that I donīt think my TX802 is broken.

Since I want to play the TX802 in a midi setup by computer, it doesnīt help me that it can be played by a Yamaha keyoard.

What kind of error is it and how can I avoid it?

Thanks for your help.

I got my TX802 today and am experiencing exactly the same thing.

I am using both a Roland JV-1080 and Yamaha TX802 with Logic Pro. The JV-1080 is behaving perfectly, but whenever I select a track the TX802 immediately shows a 'Trap Error' and gets stuck as described.

I thought it was the battery (as my battery was dead and the unit was behaving erratically), but I replaced the battery this afternoon, but the Trap Error remains.

I'm curious because I have never seen this error. What does the Trap Error actually say on the TX802 display?

The only thing I could find concerning the "Trap Error" is in the TX816 manual, and it indicates that it's "caused by a fault in the internal circuitry". See page 2 of: http://manuals.fdiskc.com/flat/Yamaha%20TX216%20&%20TX816%20Service%20Manual.pdf

It actually says 'TRAP ERROR!' on the display. (I'll take a picture and upload). Once this happens the unit becomes unresponsive (none of the buttons do anything anymore). The only thing left to do is switch of and switch on again.
