G'day,
First two questions of many more to come.
Re. the black fabric covering behind the keys.
1) what are the holes used for under the fabric? (ventilation)?
2)How can the material be replaced?
This is where the darned cat left his fur while he sharpened his claws on the black material and left some small rips in it.

Re. your question Ray - The holes are indeed just extra ventilation. As to replacing the the black fabric, I've had a look at my KN7000 and I think it requires a fairly major strip-down, to remove the fabric covered panel. However, I have a suggestion - you could try using a Lint Roller to remove the cat hair. They are normally used for removing fluff particles from clothing, after washing. If you are not sure what a lint roller is Ray, I expect 'The Gardener' will be able to help. The ones I use are manufactured by 3M Scotch.

No need to boggle - I use mine to remove my Persian cat's hair from my clothes, after I brush her, while she sits on my lap
Just the kind of application for which they are intended!

Well!!!Where do I start.
I wondered when you might pick me up Roger? But it is obvious our blokes didn't turn up at The Oval, I think they went to Lords.
Bill...1)you won't give us that little urn even when we win!!!!
2)If you put the cat on the floor you could then give your lint roller to me.Yes, I know what a lint roller is, I read "The Gardener's" mail.The fabric is more the problem than the fur, only from a visual point of view.
Back on topic ( at least nobody snipes at each other here, when we stray from the subject eh! Nigel!).I can understand why you promote the SD card. The disc drive is 4 times slower on the KN7 than my KN5000 and
my Piano.
Still exploring the machine, and very impressed with the amount of organ sounds within.

Enough sport,back to the maintenance.
With great help and information from members on another Forum, the replacement of damaged fabric was accomplished with the assistance of "the Gardener", some black panty-hose, and a lot of adhesive tape,(to remove the cat hair from the interior).Patient and all involved are safe and well.
Thought you might be interested and pleased.
Question (3.75)...On the base of the keyboard is a sticker stating 1.6 . Does that mean it was upgraded to version 1.6 at point of manufacture???

In answer to your question mine has a sticker on the bottom saying 1.3 which mine is - so I'm sure yours was manufactured including v1.6 you lucky person you...
