============ dx7patch.txt ============ Hi, here are all the DX7 sounds found on the ftp servers louie.udel.edu resp. ucsd.edu converted to SY77 format. All doubles were eliminated, then conversion was done with dx2sy.exe, a PD conversion program. There are 77 Files of the *.jxx type (Synth All) which can be loaded directly into a SY77 or SY99. Each file contains 64 Voices so there are nearly 5000 sounds. Sorry but the conversion program does not handle modulation settings and FX settings very well. A good method to change those settings is to make some AFM Voices with your favourite FX/modulation/etc settings and copy the AFM Element of the converted DX7 Voice into it. If anybody has done a conversion to Standard MIDI-Files (for use with a TG77) or has done editing/cleaning up on the sounds, please send me e-mail, many people will appreciate if you make your efforts PD. All the files are packed and compressed into one big file (dx7patch.zip) which will go on a single floppy disk (>= 720 K). For dx7patch.zip you will need the program 'unzip' or 'pkzip', both are common on Unix, MS-DOS, Atari, Amiga and Mac (also PD). Note that the SYs will only recognize all files correctly if the extension ('jxx' where 'xx' is any number from '01' to '99') is unique per disk. So it is best if you put a set of 10 files (*.j01 to *.j10 etc.) on each disk. Also don't use directories on the SY readable disks. If there are any problems with these files send me e-mail. Many thanks to Uli who has done a big part of the conversion work and to dil <1loebner@rzdspc2.informatik.uni-hamburg.de> who finally included the remaining patches and to Tom May who fixed the D banks. ciao Herbert
