I have owned Techinics keyboards in the past and loved them. I purchased a Pa3x and in my opinion I felt the Kn was better suited for sequencing. All that said, Technics no longer makes Keyboards. I had troubles with the with the 3x and I swore that I would never buy another Korg. The 3x was the closest I could get to the Technics. I AM NOW EATING CROW AS I JUST PURCHASED A PA4X and looking forward to playing it. I wanted to post this because of the negative things I have said in the past about Korg. I will now being asking questions about the 4x and did not want the members of this forum thinking I am fickle. I also studied the specs on the Genos but I think Korg is better suited for my needs. blush

It takes a big person to stand up and take ownership of former statements ... hey, the world changes every day ...
Enjoy the Pa4X, and there are a number of people who will be willing to answer your questions ...

The Pa4x is a great board I enjoy mine but I also loved the Genos when I played one this week. RC you’re gonna love the Pa4x.

Like RC, I’m changing my mind about Korg. As a long time Yamaha player (and still am), I’m becoming more impressed with Korg, the more videos I’ve seen. Love the drums and bass parts, in particular. Thinking about adding the Pa 1000, when it becomes available.

I've always preferred Yamaha. In fact, I remember trying out the early Pa models (Pa1x, Pa2x), and there was always something artificial in their sounds. Specifically, some sounds had a strange, unnatural vibrato. But now, the Pa4x is making me question my preference. Listen to this demo carefully. I know I've already posted this long ago, but it shows just how realistic the Pa4x sounds are. It sounds like a real Jazz Trio:

Yamaha keyboards sound very nice, but they don't quite have this kind of "live" feel to them. Just my three cents. wink

Probably the best crow you'll eat!

Years ago, I was the Lone Ranger Korg player. Too much gripe about styles being too busy, glitches, on and on.......

The first time I got my hands on a Korg (PA800) I never turned back.

Don't worry, Jim, that SD-5 is still in GREAT shape! Been thinking of taking it out of the box and turning it on for several years now!

Be well, friend,

Russ (hope my MS-60 never dies) Lay

Jim, that had to be 100 years ago with the PA800 ha JUST KIDDING! I had one in 2007, that's about the same time you went with the PA800.
