esq-m and librarian software - 06/25/01 10:51 PM

I recently purchased both an esq-m and the editor/librarian software. I was able to dump a bank of sounds from the synth into my computer, but have so far been unable to load any sounds back into the esq-m. I was told by the guy that sold me the librarian with around 2400 sounds that it should work fine despite being written for the esq-1, but is this in fact the case. BTW- I did check the midi output/input preferences in the software, and I checked that my basic recieve channel is 1. Is there some kind of menu command that needs to be toggled for the ESQ to recieve sysex stuff? Because I couldn't find one. Any help would be vastly appreciated.

The desktop name is ESQ-1 Librarian. The name as it appears when it loads is
Ensoniq Patch Librarian ESQ1

Each time the ESQm is powered down and back up, it reverts to "K+C+PC" in the MIDI receive menu, so you have to reset it to "KCPSYS" (one increment up) and then it should work fine. For some reason they thought they needed to design a safeguard to prevent accidental sysex overwrites.mn
