My nephew is sending me usb midisport 2x2 to use for the wk3000 to communicate with the computer. Anyone have experience with this setup? Will I be able to work with programs such as cubase, band in the box etc...with this?

The 2x2 usb midisport works great. Yes, you will be able to use it to midi up your computer with your WK-3000. It will work with any program that sends and receives midi including the programs you mentioned. I recommend it. Sounds like you have a smart nephew there.

I have been using the midisport with no problems. You simply connect your MIDI IN and MIDI OUT cables to this device and then a USB cable from this device into the USB port on your computer. Very easy to connect up with clear markings.
