I have the 'old' wk-3000. I have heard the tones' sound is upgraded/ more user memory/ different rhythms. They also have different Casio software, so the file structure is a little different. Check out the other Casio site, to ask users with the new boards...how they like them: http://www.originalz.com/casio/casio_bbs/

Hi Jim,

I too have the "old" (no offence intended) WK3000 and like it a lot. A certain seller is selling the WK3200 on Ebay - brand new -for an amazing price! Just how do Casio manage to offer such incredible value for money?? The fact that some seem to prefer its piano sound over the Tyros says it all really...

I also remember you from the "old" (there I go again) Casio forum which I used to frequent until it vanished one day!! I've been away from online forums for a while (too busy actually learning/playing my keyboards!) but it's interesting to check back and read through the various posts!!

Chris

Some of the differences are that the 3200/3700 has twice as much memory as the 3000/3500. Also, there are a few additional sounds and some of the same sounds are mapped to different numbers. The GM sound set starts at 400 on the 3200/3700, as opposed to 300 on the 3000/3500. There is also a new version of the software specifically for the 3700 (the interface seems the same as the 3500 version, but the web site says the two are different).

Otherwise, I have found both models to be mostly the same. The main difference is the 3000/3500 is not sold retail anymore (but, yes, you can pick them up on eBay or closeout or surplus). If you buy new, you'll have to go with the 3200/3700.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

I own the W3700 and previously owned the WK3500. The sounds are much much better on the WK3700 than the WK3500. Hands down the sound is improved on most tones.

Hmmmn.... thanks for that insight, Linda. Even BETTER tones than the 3000/3500??!... VERY tempting, especially at the cheap price I've seen it listed at over here in the UK...

Well, temptation got the better of me and I took delivery of my new WK3200 today.

First impressions are VERY positive. Great sounds, more memory, the overall "silver" design is more to my taste... and, am I right in suspecting that Casio have even improved the keys on these new models??...

Interesting to think what others think about these new "wonders"!!! I, for one, am most happy!! :-)

I'm looking for an arranger keyboard in the range 400-700$. I'm familiar with the Korg i-series and I wonder if there is a model of arranger keyboard in this price range having sync stop button .While running the drum pattern, I like to play the bass part with my left hand (in order to avoid the monotonous automatic bass) and my right hand is for soloing. Casio WK 3700 seems to offer so many great fetures for the money but it is not clear from their manual whether this split playing is possible while automatic drum patterns are running. Are the sounds really that good (I need especially good quality drum and bass while I'm playing live with the guitarist)Thanks
