MZ2000 new owner - 03/21/05 05:40 AM

Dear All,

I have just bought a secondhand Casio MZ2000, and wondered if anyone knows of any sites where I might be able to get downloads of songs/styles/contents of missing floppy disk/missing pages from manual etc.

Your help would be much appreciated.

Regards,

Mark.

Here is a european link...the mz-2000 has some files listed: http://www.casio-europe.com/de/emi/download/

the mz-2000 manual is at the bottom of this link: http://world.casio.com/emi/download/en/manual/

The disk contents are listed somewhere (maybe even on the sites I listed)....or maybe someone can give you a direct link.
I hope you really enjoy your keyboard...I have heard that that was the 'best' of the new generation keyboards....but couldn't find a big enough market, to keep in production. Please feel free to 'stop by' our wk forum (similar to the MZ...with less features). There is a lot of interest in the MZ, and we would enjoy your comments abou it.: http://www.originalz.com/casio/casio_bbs/

Jim,

Thank you for your help.

I'm having trouble with the downloads from these sites (the keyboard locks up and I have to pull out the power cable to turn it off), but I'll persevere.

Regards,

Mark.

I have accessed them, with out troubles. You may want to check your web browser's security level...you may have it set at a high level. That can sometimes make even safe downloads lock up. Good luck on the downloads!

Jim,

Sorry, I wasn't very clear with my last reply. I meant that my MZ2000 locks up when trying to read these files. I'm having all sorts of problems with floppy-disk related stuff: it's very tempremental. There are all sorts of things that could be wrong here, I presume, so I'll get to work on the more obvious ones.

Regards,

Mark.

I don't own nor have I ever used an MZ-2000. However, I've noticed that the specs state that the floppy drive is "2dd/2hd". It may be that it actually prefers one or the other density. Perhaps you could try both "720K" and "1.4MB" disks and see if either works better.
