Can anyone tell me about the extra tones you can download at Casio's website...are they any good? Better than or worse than the internal factory tones?

Is this just a gimmick or is the direct download of tones, styles, etc. really worthwhile?

Lots of folks really like the 'extra' tones and rhythms. Most of them seem like variations of the internal tones (IMO)...but on the other user site http://www.originalz.com/casio/casio_bbs/
many of the users have made their own samples. The Casio free software is a great tool to build your own rhythms/tones. You can make a style from your favorite midi files (It takes a lot of work...but can be done...with good results).

Thanks for that input. I am trying to decide between a Yamaha PSR 403 and the Casio WK 3200. There's + and - for both. But I do like the idea of being able to load additional voices to the Casio. Altho the styles are kinda cheesy.

The styles are able to be modified. Sometime just turning off 1 part will give you a better sound. I hope you check out some of the music users post on the other site...to see what the Casio's can do.

Jim, what are the major differences btwn the 3200 and the 3700? Are they worth the difference in price?

ALSO...
I am still trying to decide between a Yamaha PSR E403 and a Casio. I visited the Casio users site and am more impressed now than ever. Also read the manual for the 3200/3700 and it appears that these boards are much more versatile than the Yamaha PSR E403. I see where one can edit in the mixer mode. What do you think about the voices on the 3200/3700? and the drums?

Sorry to be such a pest. I just noticed there's no line out on the 3200 but there is on the 3700. Can the headphone socket be used efficiently for line out?

Well, I almost bought a WK3700 tonight...and at a good price...$240. But I just don't like the styles or the drum sound...everything else was really appealing to me. So I opted for an alternative...a Yamaha PSR E403 off the shelf for $194 plus a free power adapter. It doesn't do all I want it to, but this is just to hold me over until the replacement for the PSR3000 hits the stores sometime next year. I hope I can hold out til then.
