Pegasus 2+ module issue

I've got a Pegasus 2+ module that is not retaining files (.dmp) loaded from floppy. When booting up, he error message comes up. Always did but never lost memory. There is external box on back containing batteries (customized?) . Maybe need to be replaced? Might I lose something if I take batteries out? This error happens when I disconnect from power for more than a day.

Yes, the batteries have probably had their day and will need replacing, (The box on the back was a user mod so that you did not need to keep opening up the case to change them) all user data will be lost (But this is happening anyway) so make sure you back everything up to floppy.

Are these a special rechargeable battery, or lithium, or ?? Something I won't find locally?

Are Ralph and or Chris, or anyone at WersiUSA still active? No response to emails or phone messages.

There still on the Wersi (Music Store) website and they have communicated with others, so yes they are still around, but as I said in my last post they are not exactly responsive.

No response. Bill, can you ask around and see if anybody can get me a brand or model # or voltage /type for battery? I can get a serial # of unit.

Well after getting external compartment open and risking losing all programming, I discovered simply 2 commercially available rechargeable AAA batteries..going to store shortly.
