Rikki: Wow. That sounded great. It's their engine that does the heavy lifting instead of hugh multi-layered samples. Very cool stuff.

Hi Robert,
actually can't beleive how good it sounds for the size of it ( demo version as far as I can work out is only about 70mb's).

No noticeable latency when midied to either my Clavinova or PSR1500.

I've tried piano soundfonts double the size that didn't sound anywhere near as good and they never felt quite right.

Unfortunately I can't use it for style parts on the psr1500, but midied to Forte , I can use it for playing piano melody.
Certainly sounds better than the onboard piano.

My Clavinova was top of the line (non arranger) about 3 years ago, this software piano ( to my ears) possibly sounds even better.

best wishes

Now, that is saying something Rikki. My wife has the same Clavinova(6 yrs). The piano has always been considered one of the best out there.

Hi Bernie,
really, I've got the CLP170. I luv it. Best digital I've had to date. Doesn't quite make up for having had to sell my baby grand ( lack of space when we moved) but it's good.

Went for the straight piano rather than one of the cvp's with arranger functions. I wouldn't have gotten the same quality in a cvp ( with arranger functions) for round the same money.

I ended up playing the true piano thru my clavinova's speaker system. Sounded really good. I could barely tell the difference in which piano I was playing , the internal sounds or the True Piano. The sounds aren't exactly the same, but I didn't get that feeling of latency which is off putting.

Great to have a decent piano in my laptop.
Clav's a bit big to take on holidays haa haa.

best wishes
Rikki

Here is another VST piano that I just purchased and am using through Forte. Very impressive. Minimum latency; many sounds. Try the demos on the site.
