New Wersi Open Art Arranger Software - 10/13/06 02:30 PM

Wersi Austria is posting news about the new Open Art Arranger software for Wersi OAS instruments which has started to appear on various forums, here is the link. http://www.wersi.co.at/OPEN-ART-ARRANGER-3.html
Unfortunately it is in German, but if you use the Babel fish translator http://babelfish.altavista.digital.com/translate.dyn you will be able to get an idea of what it can do.
One of the main things being emphasised is the fact that you can now play Yamaha styles directly, without needing to convert to OAS first.
Enjoy

Hi Bill,
that's a good bit of news. Actually having to convert to Wersi must have messed some of the yamaha styles up.

Just out of interest, what do you use as a soundsource for the Yammie styles,
ie has wersi got a vst or a special soundsource that plays them back correctly, or are you basically in the same boat as omb users, who have to put together our own soundsource be it , soundfonts or bandstand etc & have to tweak the styles to suit the soundsource??

best wishes
Rikki

Hello Rikki
The software is not being shipped until November, so the only information is as you see on the site, however talking to Wersi at the Pakefield festival, apparently the style system used for the Yamaha styles has been licensed from Yamaha, and is an addition to the upgraded Wersi Style System, but is also fully integrated into it, so I can only presume that all the Yamaha sound maps have been incorporated into the software, as to what voices are used we will have to wait and see, although you will be able to edit them just like any other style. (From the way Wersi was talking at Pakefield, I also got the impression that they are also in negotiation with other manufactures)
Whichever way it is done it certainly looks interesting
