Live Styler audio and video demos - 07/29/06 10:51 PM

Hello

Here is a link that Norbert Stellberg the author of Live Styler emailed me a while ago.

This is definitely set up like an organ and is played in an old organ style. I am not fond of most of the sounds picked, but it is very interesting to see how easily it is to change sounds on the fly using a touch screen.

Go to the bottom of this page, click Enter. Find audio and video demos by clicking underneath the organ pics.

It’s amazing what you find out in forums.
I have been keeping an eye on the TMS software for a couple or three years now, (I have posted links to the site many times as they have improved performance) however I never new that the software they were using was actually Live Styler, I always thought it was there own bespoke software.
Now that it can use VST instruments, it is now heading towards the Wersi OAS and Lionstracs Mediastation systems. (Although TMS will have to drop soundfonts if they want to really compete, as this is a really old sound system and while you can get some acceptable results, modern sampling/tone generation leaves them for dead)
Touch Screens
Providing the interface is sound (Nice big buttons) then any screen between 8 – 10” is ideal for a keyboard, the 15” you see being used in the videos while great for control, would cause serious problems if you needed to play from music.
Once again thanks for the info.

Quote, abacus: "(Although TMS will have to drop soundfonts if they want to really compete, as this is a really old sound system and while you can get some acceptable results, modern sampling/tone generation leaves them for dead)"

What are your thoughts on what the better sounds are that are available now.

I'm new at this and I thought soundfonts was where it was at from what I've heard others posts.

But, I'll have to admit whatever sounds this company is using is pretty dismal, actually laughable that they would present something with those kind of sounds, BUT, I'll have to admit, they are going after an organ market and that breed of cats is a bit different than people that like arranger keyboards.

The Live Styler part though looks good and I agree, I immediately thought of Mediastation

Hi Scott
It depends on what type of VST instrument you are looking for.
If you want high quality sampled sounds then these links will give you an idea of what’s available. (There are many others)

If you’re looking for instrument emulations/synths then have a look at these. (Again there are many others)

There are also effects VSTs, however I suggest you get familiar with the use of VST instruments first.
Hope this helps

More Live Styler demos featuring complete songs and vocals:

Click on Danny Fehrenbach

These are the first complete songs I believe I have heard with a soft arranger. Sounds as good as anything I've heard in any arranger keyboard IMHO.

I posted this over on the General Arranger forum for those that don't come to this forum. It will be interesting to see what comments and ideas will come from this.
