DPS 12 Question

I have a DPS 12 with the internal 1 Gig Jaz drive. I am having some troubles. I get disk access too slow, SCSI error, etc., etc. I have seen mention in the past of problems with the Jaz drive and am assuming that is my problem. Has anyone gone to another hard drive type? If so, which ones work well and where did you pick one up?
