Problem with Tyros 2..Sustain changes Registrations - 11/28/05 04:27 AM

I've been using the Tyros 1 since 2003, and recently purchased the Tyros 2. I installed a sustain pedal, changed the polarity correctly, and I've been using this for a week quite successfully.

Well, yesterday, I moved the keyboard and plugged the sustain pedal into the sustain socket of the keyboard and now my pedal changes my registrations instead of sustaining. I went into Utility / Controller to make sure the sustain is set to R1/R2/R3 and everything seems normal.

Do I have a problem with my Tyros 2 or did a setting change on the keyboard?

Thanks
Al

You have possibly pressed a registration button which you have previously saved a different set-up....just a thought ?.

Al, are you sure you're not plugging into the assignable jack, that may be assigned to that function..

Al, I believe you may have inadvertantly turned ON the "Registration Sequence" feature. When "Registration Sequence" is ENABLED, and Regist seq +/- advance settings are assigned to the same footswitch pedal you assigned sustain to, the sustain function is ignored, as "Registration Sequence" footpedal assignments 'take precedence' over standard footpedal assignments, of which are set in the the: Function > Controller > Footpedal Window.

To eliminate this problem, I suggest assigning "Registration Sequence" Reg+ amd Reg- to another foot pedal than the one you have assigned for sustain, or simply turning off the "Registration Sequence" feature:

Function > Regist Sequence/Freeze/Voice Set > Regist Sequence Tab

This should SOLVE your problem.

I think that's it Scott, I'll try that when I get home. I did not change this function, but did upgrade to OS 1.01. I wonder if this affected the Reg Sequence.

Thanks for the help Scott!!!
