Yamaha PSR S500/Roland GW7/Roland EXR 5 - 08/08/07 10:17 AM

Hey,

I'm looking to buy a keyboard in the UK for under £400 off the net.

I'm a "grade 8" standard pianist, looking for a keyboard thats great for playing some 'rock' type music or classical pieces - as well as to compose to a decent standard.

I'm a University student so I don't want to have to carry around an an amp - does the GW7 have speakers? I need to have something thats "fairly" portable.

I was looking at the
- Roland GW7 (~£330)
- Yamaha PSR S500 (~£360)
- Roland EXR 5 (~£320)

I would be adding pedals and such, and am interested in the depth of sound.

I used a Roland a few years back in a Rock School type thing and loved the sound quality.

What would you suggest?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Danny
The only way to be sure it will suit is to go along to a dealer and try them.
Also don’t forget to have a look at the Casio range.
The S700 mentioned is an excellent board, but it is way above your price range.
Finally have a look at pre-owned models, as you may get a better deal. (Most dealers have pre-owned boards in stock)
Hope this helps

Danny,
Buy Zuki's Roland E600. Perfect for what you mentioned !
