Sorry guys, my bad - looks like I was given some erroneous info regarding a "Successor" to the VA-7.

Googled around for info on the KN-8000 but all i could find was the 6000 and 7000.

Not fair to compare them then, as those keyboards seem firmly planted in the "home user" category - hope the 8000 is a quantum leap beyond those keyboards.

Th VA-7 STILL surprises me (and my audiences) to this day, and it STAGGERS me that this keyboard is not more popular than it is.

Quite frankly, I don't know what I'd do without it.

Btw, thanks for the *ahem* "quick" reply...

Let's get this forum jumpin' again, shall we?

I have a VA5 and love it. I lent it to my friend who has a G1000 and he says he would never buy my VA5 to replace his G1000 for a variety of reasons, the most suprising being that he feels the G1000 sounds and styles are better than VA5/7. I think the VA5/7 are very underrated keyboards. Their sounds are as good as Tyros and their styles and key feel are better than Tyros in my opinion.

Well, You can pop in a floppy on a VA-5 with G-1000 styles on it or any style and it will play it. And onother thing: G-1000 is only better then VA-7 in one way: because it has 4 Drum variation, but va-7/76 has about 2 and they are linked to orchestrator 1,2(basic),3,4(advanced).

I think what I like most about the VA-7 is the way you can "express" the sounds - take the V acoustic guitar, (a sound I now judge other keyboards by - the guitar is SO hard to do convincingly on a keyboard.) If you tap the key it's like a low pick of the string, and the harder you press - it CHANGES the sample until you hear the string bending when you're hitting the keys hardest!

Same goes for the magnificent V-drums, hit the snare softly - it's a tap, then harder - it's a medium hit (different sample), then hardest it's a rimshot!

MAGIC.

Wow so it has 3 samples in one sound. Awesome. My favourite instrument of the VA5/7 is the B13 Sax....stunningly realistic...

Hi,
it was a joke because Technics stopped developing and soon producing of keyboards. Therefore KN 6000 and 7000 are the last ones.
It seems to be that Roland will change to SMF keyboards, like Discover.
