My Twenty PSR-S670 Videos - 08/22/23 12:37 PM

Greetings;

these are all my videos which I made with my PSR-S670 so far. The PSR-S670 was released after I had bought PSR-S950 but I noticed that for its price it was quite a capable instrument.

I bought SX900 after that, and then, some time later, I left my country for reasons that you can guess, since the country was Russia. Well, probably you all know it already, I just feel like telling a story.

I moved to a neighboring Kazakhstan, which in fact mostly feels and sounds like Russia, as it shares its Soviet history. I lasted with my "Korg Microkeys" for two weeks, while I was settling in, and felt strongly that I needed something more fundamental, checked the ads, and there was PSR-S670 for a good price, I contacted the seller, took a taxi, and I must say that with PSR in my apartment I instantly felt more like at home.

Some time later I moved again, that time to Kyrgyzstan, it is neighboring to Kazakhstan, but not to Russia, as I discovered that it had better policy for foreigners (in terms of time you can stay here); turns out you can easily send things as big as keyboards between these countries; so I could've sent by SX900 here, but it is in fact too expensive, too heavy and I had thrown away the box; S670 is considerably lighter, perhaps it has smaller speakers, but they are still quite decent.

In short, S670 offers mostly everything which big brothers have, it has all the settings, same options with registrations, multi pads; USB recording; except for: less options to create or edit styles, less options to edit songs, perhaps it misses something else, but for me the only essential thing which it lacks is better drums.

Certainly, there are a lot of voices on SX900 or even S950 which S670 doesn't have, but the piano sound is rather similar, most importantly, the polyphony is the same. S670 is currently replaced with SX600; I think for most people during tough economics it is as close as they can get to TOTL arranger. It seems that Korg hasn't offered anything new in this range so far.

Keyboards got really expensive, for some reason not only in Russia, but here as well. If I "found a lot of money in the street" I would be debating whether to buy a new computer (my pragmatic side) or to buy another keyboard I had always secretly liked: Yamaha MX61 (my passionate side), a blue one (Zuki had one for a while)... it's due to be replaced, by the way.

S670 and MX61 look like a great set, but... my pragmatic side exists for a reason; it says "stop living in the past"... but what is the use of being right if you don't have your passion? And where is my passion right now? I'm not sure. I want a bicycle. It costs 1/6 of MX61... Lame...

Hello Kabinopus,

I always breathe a sigh of relief when you post because I worry about you, man!
I’m glad to hear you’re in a safe place and I would never ask you any kinds of questions that you cold get you into trouble, but just know you’re on my mind.

Anyways, I always enjoy what you do musically, and I wish you well.

Hello Paul, thank you for your concern; in reality most of Russians take the option "act like nothing's happening", well, everyone needs an image of normalcy, this is what I'm mostly doing here, focusing on some activities and "work for a better future (for me)", I don't think there are a lot of people with certain strong political and ideological views, they try to stay away from it and want it to be over.
I see that people all over the world have all sorts of problems, so I can't complain too much, we live one day at a time, trying to enjoy it where it's possible; the future, as we see it, is a highly unpredictable thing. Maybe we'll meet extraterrestrials one day :-)

...and maybe they'll have the technology to build an Arranger that meets Diki's approval smile smile smile.... ehhh, probably not.

Maybe they’ll make an arranger that Chas doesn’t find complicated… 😂

It already exists; it's called a 'B3' smile. I just need the aliens to get the weight down to 20 lbs.

I watched every one of them! Great work from a talented, sensitive,
creative soul.

Like others, I worry about you in today's climate of civil unrest in that part of the world.

STAY SAFE, FRIEND!

AS I watched your videos, I thought it is remarkable how much you look like the bass player with Leonid and friends on the first video Leonid posted. It is a sensitive ballad with a Major TEMPO CHANGE, WHERE THE YOUNG BASS PLAYER killed it!

Thank you, Russ;
just noticed, there's "Russ" " in "Russia" :-)
As one writer was saying about good and evil, in art evil may appear interesting and impressive, while good appears to be plain and uninteresting, while in real life it is other way around, and we witness it now, this series of crimes which are collectively called "war" are exhausting, sad, and even boring, while anything about normal life is in fact rather exciting, because it's normally about making something new...
These my videos are kind of my diary, since you watched then all, now you are caught up with everything that was going on with me last 9 months :-)

PS I'll watch the video with Leonid
