Bottom lineā¦ you canāt play guitar parts with one hand!
But perhaps you can try using your arrangerās āpiano modeā (so that single lines or two note inside movement doesnāt drive the chord recognition crazy!) with bass inversion onā¦ try that with the style stripped down to just bass and drums. Instant trio!
And a really good chord strumming technique uses my favorite trick of same sound on either side of a split, with the left side transposed up into the range of the right side. Use four string voicing (which can be just about covered by one hand) you can do fast repeated chords with a slight upwards strum on the right hand and a slight downwards strum with the left. Maybe try using one inversion lower on the right hand (downbeat strums would start on the lower notes) and the left hand on the slightly higher inversion (upstrokes would be the higher strings first).
Not to mention, the split allows you to hit the same note or chord repeatedly without tangling your fingers.
Itās been up a long time, but this thread has me playing with this technique (except the upper side is a nylon and the lower side is a steel string!)ā¦
