DUDE! Diana is "HAPPENIN". She can sing and play, too!

She's been one of my very favorites for years.

And Elvis, gives ugly old guitar strummers a ray of hope (LOL)!

Good find, bud.

I agree ! Some of my jazz snob friends say that she could not make as a stand alone pianist or singer. Whatever.... Her voice and piano are like one instrument.

I assume you’re referring to her husband, Elvis Costello. He’s a lucky man and their kids have no excuses to not be excellent musicians!

Check out 13:15 in the video. Great drum pattern I’ve never seen any other drummer do before - right hand conga pattern on the snare and later he adds a left hand swish brush.

Diana is the whole package. Good piano chops, sexy voice thats her own style, and good looks. No she wouldn't get noticed much, except for her looks in the jazz piano world but as we all know, or should know, its about the vocals. Same on the male side with Harry Connick. Very good player but his looks and voice put him over the top. My wife loves him and we've been to a few concerts. One was bad, his Funky Donkey small band. Adverstised that it was NOT the HC Big Band but people don't read. Many walked out.
Love both their. stuff.

Yes, good comparisons between Harry Connick and Diana Krall. Both are, areas you say, "The Complete Package"

Too bad some the audience wasn't very accepting of the HC's small funk band. I always admire an artist that can step out of their comfort zone or try new approaches.
