Winamp Alternative?

Winamp Alternative? - 01/17/21 08:28 AM

Been using Winamp for backing tracks forever. While on one hand, it still does the job, but after 20 plus years, there has to be a better way to go. Any suggestions? Thanks

Hi.

Take a look at VLC, maybe it's a good alternative?

I have used VLC for a few years and have no problems.

You might want to investigate some music players that allow you to drop Markers in like you can with sequences. Having the freedom to restructure your backing or break music, to do extra choruses if the crowd is dancing, or to shorten a song if they aren’t, it’s a game changer.

I’m a Mac guy, but I would be very surprised if programs aren’t available that do this for Windows. Take a look at some of the programs designed for modern church music directors. A lot of them use multitrack audio backing.

I've been looking for such an alternative myself for a while. I reverted back to good old Winamp, as I could not find anything that brings more features to me. I mean, in the realm of common mp3/wav players.

Seems Winamp 5.8 is stable with windows 10. It's comfortable, does everything I want, so why not.
