Who Was Nigel?

Never thought about Nigel’s position on SZ. Nigel made the rules, so I thought of him as the man who created and owned SZ. If there is more to the story, I would appreciate hearing about it.

Two Hundred ninety-nine views and not one replay. Did I ask a wrong question?

John,

Nigel did indeed create and operate this forum. Beyond that, possibly it is too soon after his death for those who knew him well to respond. Perhaps that will change in time if those individuals are so inclined.

Thank you, Tracy, I had a high respect for Nigel. I know no other keyboard forum that covered the many areas that he did.
He had to be a special man --- way beyond my capabilities.
Thank you, Tracy, John C.

Sorry I dont know how to add me yet, but I'm Kerry, Nigel's wife of 41 years.

This was a nice tribute and explains his life.

So much I didn’t know. I wish I had been one of the lucky few who got to hang with him. But I’ll treasure the time we had ‘virtually’. He was always extraordinarily kind with my ramblings here, and I sensed a kindred soul.

We could have jammed... (and that’s something I say of few!) 😥❤️

Only knew Nigel since 2000 through this forum, but to me, he feels like a lifetime friend. Only wish we could have met in person. So many things we had in common, so many things I wanted to talk to him about. I miss him already frown

Thank you Kerry for sharing that lovely tribute. Nigel was not one to “ toot his own horn” and most of us knew very little about his accomplishments. We do all appreciate his tremendous contribution to the keyboard community and Synthzone is one part of his legacy . His talents and love of our art form lives!

Nigel was a good friend, we talked on the phone once in a while, mainly about sailing and my son's video games. I was so very saddened to hear of his passing, and hope that Kerry can keep things going. She is a wonderful lady and I would gladly do anything in my power to help her in any way a can.

I just stopped for a visit. I hadn't a clue of Nigel's passing. I'm am so sorry to hear this. Would someone tell me when this happened.

He banned me years ago. A couple of years later he emailed me and invited me back and was humble enough to say he made a mistake banning me. However, at the time around September 23, 2014, My Son Drew Leonard Hargis 36 years old had died with Esophageal Cancer, and I lost interest in everything yes even music, and I just became a hermit so to speak. Thanks for any info.

OMG, that is such awful news. Can’t believe it. Mum came up from Melbourne to stay with us for Xmas, and she’s kept me pretty busy , haven’t had a chance to check in and say hi.
Used to love having the odd chat online, about the good old days in Melbourne where we both grew up.

He is going to be missed.
