Resource for keyboard parts

On the Facebook BK7M users group someone was looking for a replacements for the selection/jog wheel on the unit. It is also on others untis such as my BK9. someome commentedd that this is a common problem as the wheel was not meant for heavy use. ( From now on I will use my IPAD App for the BK for editing )

Instrumentalparts.com has the wheel and parts for many other keyboards. Good to know. I'm going to buy one just because $20 piece of mind.

My BK7M's wheel was acting erratic. I had to take the wheel apart and clean it. Once cleaned it acted like new.

I got a long-term mouse arm (orthopedic problem) from the Roland jog wheel of both BK-7m and SonicCell some years ago.

The temptation is to press the wheel out on the edge, where you are turning it from. Try to avoid this, and press the wheel in the center if you can.

This is better in two ways... it won’t stress the wheel by applying torque to the edges, and it helps prevent the motion of pressing on the edge from moving the value of what you are editing.

It slows you down a bit, a PITA, but that can also help avoid mistakes..!

Good advice. I don't know why but I normally do it that,way. Rotate the wheel from the edge and then pick up my finger and press the center. I an also very aware of pressing buttons to hard or fast. I catch myself doing that with the
Exit key a lot. Gotta be careful.
