It's Roland and Korg, not Casio as you wrote in the header. Still disgraceful...

Actually Casio was fined last year according to the article, so it is perfectly acceptable to have it included in the title.

Yamaha was in it also, but they were the whistle blower, and given immunity. I don't know about the UK,but I was under the impression that all of them had minimum price levels to level the playing field with the discounters.

Major music manufacturers have always had discount price limits. They all are quite firm in how low dealers can set prices. My brothers music store wanted to carry Yamaha, Roland, Korg, and Martin Guitar products, but because of price fixing, he decided not to.

That's the case in Germany, too. The margin is fixed by Roland etc., so Thomann and Musicstore usually have the same prices, and the smaller stores try to match them.

Which really is a shame..
yamaha has allways been the worst of them all..
If you advertise or sell under msrp, you loose your dealership..

Thats what allows the smaller shops that actually offer real service, to survive..
