Got a work in progress here. The melody is in my head. Here's a rough draft.
Social Commentary – Don Mason 3-2020
The times they are a changin’ very fast.
Ask me what I’m doin’ I’ll say sittin’ here on my
Ask me why I’m not out runnin’ ‘round,
Cause everywhere I wanta go is suddenly shut down.
Seems some kinda bug is in control,
Got us runnin’ scared and our blood a runnin’ cold.
They expect me to take it with a smile,
And there won’t be a pay check for a while.
They say keep your social distance and that’s about six feet,
Means you have to holler if a friend you chance to meet.
Wash your hands then throw away the towels,
And try to ignore that rumblin’ in your bowels.
Cause toilet paper’s very hard to find.
It’s best to use just one square when you wipe your behind.
And the grocery stores are gettin’ mighty rough,
Silly people fightin’ over stuff,
They’re never gonna use! They got me so confused!
Stuff we never thought we’d lose! Got me singin’ the blues.
To myself. Can’t go around no one else.
Cause they might have them bugs, clingin’ to their selves,
Waitin’ to jump on me, knock me off my feet.
Crawl down in my chest, lay me down to rest.
[It’s time right here to play a musical interlude so I have time to compose my thoughts and adjust my attitude.]
All the sports are gone from my t.v.
Bad news is all there is to see.
I turned it off and talked to someone nice.
She called me by my name and said she was my wife.

I’ll have to blame it all on the Corona.
