Remember Rudy Rosa - 03/07/20 07:14 AM

One of my all time favorite organist, and over the years used various combinations of a Hammond (clone), arrangers, and synths, all setup to look like an organ.

BTW this was over 10 years ago. and Rudy Rosa has since passed on, but his talent lives, and I can listen to his stuff anytime.

His setup from 2009

Great stuff and a wonderful player. Reminds me of a few guys I knew back in the golden age of organs. ( those arouund NJ would know Al Rondo or Jimmy Catalano ) Doesn't look like he plays pedals though. I guess he leaves that to the Arranger.

I used to follow him, also. He downsized somewhat and moved to the Bradenton FL area where I went to catch one of his performances. He was a swell fellow, dead before his time.

Just look at different videos, if I'm not totally wrong, he use them all the time. 😊
He has several keyboards in his collection, but as far as I understood it, all arrangers are mostly to play the sounds via midi.

Yes I agree he uses foot pedals. He's an organist smile

He uses arranger styles, with some coming from the T-2 sitting on top, also used as midi controller for sounds. Other videos you can sense other arranger keyboard styles and sounds, like from a Technics KN6000.

But most of the time it's the Hammond XK3 that's in control and shines as the lead. His skillful flicking OF the Leslie switch timed just right, adds to it all.

I got caught up in watching all his videos with headphones on, over and over, and each and every time I'm blown away. I only wish I got to meet him in Florida, but sometimes you can't control everything on a bucket list.

OK I'll wrap it up. In this video, I can't figure out the top keyboard, but no matter, it's awesome. Check out his You Tube Channel. His wife keeps it going, and appreciates visitors.

If you listen in the beginning he tells us the top keyboard it a tyros 2. Wow what a setup. I loved the hammond X66 and the x77. Most people don't remember that super hammond.
