I sold keyboards from 1997-2011... my room had stuff set up to be in stereo and playable. If I was selling the Genos, I would even add spotlights in order to get the asking (MAP) price out of it.

I sold 64 Yamaha Motif ES synths in one year. I was excited about it and it showed in my display and presentation of that workstation!

Sam Ash... please just care a little bit!!!

Jim it sounds like time to return the SX... I f you don't like the Genos... you won't like the SX.

I always thought Yamaha psr models sound "thin".

I agree with Fran, for what it's worth. The Genos plays way better than the SX900.

I now have an idea that Yamaha's sound is initially adjusted in order to sound well on majority of speaker systems, including internal speakers, if the keyboard has ones. What I mean, my PSR's recordings sound fine even when I play them with iPhone's speaker, but when I play the piano which I recorded with my Roland, on a small speaker this reach sound gets very distorted.

2. Single layer acoustic pianos, to me, sounded awful thin - a big concern I have going forward with the 900.

I was done with it in 15 minutes....just my opinion.

Zuki if you didn't care for genos vs your pa3x....
the SX900 is not going to be better keybed wise honestly....
open that SX box and see what you think?.

Yamaha ballances all its instruments to sound well in the mix..

Roland ballances the mix for its backings

This allows, for a way less compressed sound of solo instruments..including piano..
however on my Jupiter 80, you can easilly solve the problem by adding a bit of EQ/Filter/compressor to the piano sound..

On the other side of things, this makes the piano sound on the jupiter 80 extremely suited for solo playing with all its harmonics...

Probably a very good advise, so I'll turn on the warning lamp. 🚨
