Merry Xmas Everyone.

Hi ,
thought I’d better get in early and wish everyone a Merry Christmas just in case I don’t get a chance tomorrow.

At this stage waiting to see if our son and in-laws can make it for Xmas. Supposed to becoming tomorrow, but we have terrible fires on the east coast of Australia at the moment.

We’ve had smoke for the last 3 weeks and temperatures reaching over 100 deg. Can’t complain fires have been burning for 3 months and only just starting to affect us recently.
So many people have lost their homes , and the poor animals, doesn’t bear thinking.

We’re reasonably safe we’re not near bush land , worst that could happen is grass fires out in the back paddocks.

Never seen anything quite like it, fire after fire stretching over 100’s of miles.

Anyway, it’s great being able to take one’s mind off things, with the keyboards and the forums. Watching the tv news is just too heartbreaking.

Good news, my son managed to get thru and join us for Xmas.
Managed to get 3/4 of the way thru by train , before the line was terminated ,(it would have been affected by the fires,) but the other son was able to pick him up by car , and bring him the rest of the way. The road was not affected at this stage.

Merry Christmas Rikki and a Happy New Year I hope with less fires in your Country.

In Russia people do not celebrate the Christmas so openly, and for some reason it’s moved to January 7th, and main celebration is devoted to a mere change of a year and people just say “A New Year to you”…
But I believe that mostly on Christmas people celebrate the fact that they are together and having a good relationships. In some way it’s like one birthday for everyone, and people celebrate one more year that have been lived.
Although in my place everyone is saving their energy for the New Year’s Eve, and there’s no snow outside, thanks to you I’m kind of getting this atmosphere and want to wish you a Merry Christmas as well.

Merry Christmas holidays to you Rikki (yes reading the posts late again!!). The weather in the UK hasn't looked very festive this year, still quite mild with a lot of wind & rain, it still feels like the back end of Autumn. If we get any snow here we may see it in May or June lol.

Love to swap you for your weather, especially the rain. Haven’t had any for months.
Put in a rain water tank early this year to collect the water from the roof gutters for the garden, knew we’d jinx things by doing it, didn’t rain all winter. Haha
