What a cool piece to play....

What a cool piece to play.... - 12/06/19 08:15 AM

What a cool piece of music to learn to play....in her vid, she will show exactly how. AND for Tyros 5 and Genos owners...WOW what a great use of Ensemble voicing. Down the road I WILL get a Genos.
Anyways, if you want it in English start at 36:14.

take the time to listen all the way to the end, where she plays the whole song. It is too advanced for me right now, but my challenge is to learn to play it some day. I tried not watching and just listening to the song played at the end...In general it sure sounds like it is NOT a keyboard.

I wander how good it could sound on an SX-800 as well??
Hope some one here will post it!

Unfortunately, I don't speak the language, so I really didn't get much out of the vid.

Hi Gary,
English starts 36 min into the video.

She sometimes does 2 versions, first in German, then repeats it in English roughly halfway thru.

I learned a boat load of information on how to use the ensemble feature of my Tyros 5. Starting at 36+ minutes you get the English part of the lesson. Especially the part about the solo trombone part while playing a triad with the right hand. I can only imagine what an orchestrator could do with a Tyros 5 or Genos.

Hi Lee,
really enjoy watching her video’s.
Unfortunately the ensemble function Isn’t avaible on sx.
I set my Soundwonderland page up for the sx900, that way I don’t get disappointed, if certain software isn’t suitable.
Ignorance is bliss. Haha

Rikki, Great Idea, I will setup my SW page for the SX-900 as well....but seeing the features of the T5 or Genos demo'ed tells me I may get one down the line....Eye candy anyways, Haha...

Got it - thanks guys and gals, I guess my patience is a bit shorter so I didn't listen to more than about 2 minutes before I went to another topic.

Hi Gary,
I hadn’t spotted that Lee had put in the time, either, but I noticed how long it went for, and guessed it might start an English version halfway thru. Sure enough.
After fast forwarding and rewinding the middle section about 5 times, I found the exact start point,
THEN, I noticed Lee had put the time in . Haha
Still it was well worth watching, even if the sx can’t do it. I’d heard it mentioned before and never really understood what it was about. Korg didn’t have it either.

Btw, Lee, did you notice they have a couple of the Freeplay type of styles?
I had a listen to the demos, considering maybe getting one of them, just want to check that it’s not too similar too the onboard ones.

I'm not sure if this has been asked, or not, but ... if the ensemble effect is selected, and you only play a single note melody, does the tone change with each key strike? (like the doo wop vox sounds), or does ensemble playing require multiple keys to even operate. (as I write this - that sounds like the logical choice. More than one is kinda the definition of ensemble, right? lol)

Just curious.
