O.T. Golf Today

O.T. Golf Today - 11/06/19 09:12 PM

I did play, not well, but still fun.
It was 80, and I saw honey bees, wasps, a snake, a frog and heard something BIG plop into the water, most likely an alligator.
The weather forecast is for lots of rain tomorrow, and below freezing by Friday.
No more bees, snakes, frog or gators...or golf, for a while! frown

Main thing, as long as you had FUN. Haha

One thing my husband really missed after his accident, playing golf.
He was that bad at it, he used to play on ladies day, so he had half a hope of beating someone, anyone. Haha.
At least that was his excuse. Hmmm.

Haha

"Dear," asked a wife. "What would you do if I died?"
"Why dear, I would be extremely upset," said the husband. "Why do you ask such a question?"
"Would you remarry?" persevered the wife.
"No, of course not, dear" said the husband.
"Don't you like being married?" asked the wife.
"Of course I do, dear" he said.
"Then why wouldn't you remarry?"
"All right," said the husband, "I'd remarry."
"You would?" said the wife, looking vaguely hurt.
"Yes," said the husband.
"Would you sleep with her in our bed?" asked the wife.
After a long pause. "Well, yes, I suppose I would," replied the husband.
"I see," said the wife indignantly. "And would you let her wear my old clothes?"
"I suppose, if she wanted to," said the husband.
"Really," said the wife icily. "And would you take down the pictures of me and replace them with pictures of her?"
"Yes. I think that would be the correct thing to do."
"Is that so?" said the wife, leaping to her feet. "And I suppose you'd let her play with my golf clubs, too!?"

"Of course not, dear," said the husband. "She's left-handed."

Golf... out on a well-manicured course... in a beautiful setting... is a bit like worship... when all the elements align correctly. I miss it... the Church of the 19th Green when all the debts are settled... the weapons of "war" are put away for another day... and the ride home is about to happen.

But even if I could, now that common sense has arrived (much too late to have impacted my less than worthy life) it is cold and rainy here in "West Mayberry" and I have not received my Senior Flu Shot!

Great stories... Don... except for the snake part. Yuk!

Great story Don! I golfed briefly many years ago. After a couple frustrating days chasing the balls everywhere but the direction I aimed them in, my clubs were sold at a bargain to a friend. Funny joke too!

As a non golfer Don the only things I have done in the past
with this sport is perform at many Golf Club banquets
& high end Country clubs which were always elaborate functions.
It is quite popular with the Senior 55+ communities as is
Bowling & Bocce, too. Have fun.

Love the story and the joke. I got my own little joke, my wife and I started golf lessons in September it was 6 ninety minute lessons with a pro at The Villages Florida. We’re head out this afternoon with a couple. Temperature at tee time is predicted to be 85.

The joke is for you seasoned golfers we play at a course called El Santiago, it’s a par 3 and for newbies the holes on each green are about 10 inches in diameter versus the standard 4.25 inches. Yea you would think a vision impaired person could hit the hole...........WRONG, nothing WRONG with my vision and I can miss what should be an easy putt. They tell me as long as we don’t take the game to seriously I’ll be alright.

Yup we play bocce and shuffle board too.

P.S. I bought a set of clubs and a golf bag at a flea market for $20, I figure if it doesn’t work out I’ll donate the clubs to a needy youngster.
