What steps do you follow to keep smooth transitions between registrations (Yamaha) and Keyboard Sets (Korg) ?

Its the other way round, you set up your registrations to allow smooth transitions, and not adapt your playing to the registrations.

I only ever used one registration per song.
Less is more imo.

At one time I wrote the style, tempo, and var. on the music. The eight regs. were used set to change instrumentation – Piano/Trumpet/Sax Section/ Light Brass/trombone/Clarinet Section/Muted Trumpet/Heavy Brass/ High Brass.

This is how the big bands play; they change instruments and volumes. It also gave me control of the style var. and which parts of the style I use. I may set up m Sx900 the same way. (home use)

But, with music as it is today, you have to get to the next song so you do not lose dancers, I use one-reg-per-song method with the Korg.
