about "youtube to mp3 converter"

I've been using this site for a couple of years now (since Don mentioned it) to record the music from a Youtube video. Never had any real "suspicions" about it until a couple of months ago. After the "service" a screen would pop up saying something like "your browser needs to be upgraded...click on this link." Sure....that's like saying "welcome into my home, Mr. Malware."

Anyway, it eventually got worse. The last time I used it the "renew your browser screen" wouldn't let me sign out of my browser. I haven't used it since.

Is it just my browser or is anyone else getting this kind of scareware notice?

I used in recently with no problems. Tried to access it just now and it seems to have disappeared. That's fairly typical of this type of site. Have to find another one!

Are you sure Don? I just pulled it up but I'm afraid to use it.

Don..can you or anyone figure this out? I used to be able to access the site using both URL's. So now I'm noticing the first one above doesn't work anymore. I wonder if that URL address is the one that locked up my browser? And the second one is safe to use with no after-effects?

Did you (or anyone) recently download a song with the site with no "your browser has to be updated....click here" message? I'm not taking a chance on opening the door to a virus. Or getting my screen locked again!

Yes, as I said, I tried it last night during this discussion. It worked seamlessly and seemed to be quicker than before.
Since these sites are actually doing something illegal, it's not a shock that they keep getting shut down. But as fast as they do, another one pops up. I had a problem with one a few years ago, but stopped using it.
I've never had the message you got.
I use the built-in Windows 10 firewall, and Chrome for my browser.

Thanks Don....YOU know what you're doing. If it worked "seamlessly" for you, I'm going to give it another shot. I haven't used it for months now. I work with a lot of the tutorials offline so I'm hoping the Malicious Maleware Moniker doesn't come back.

It's the ytmp3.cc that works for me.

Tried both of them for curiosity and both resulted in a blank screen.

I just tried ytmp3.cc again and it worked fine for me.
Not sure if it has any relevance but I have disabled "accept third party cookies" in my Chrome browser settings.

Don...I haven't tried it yet. I'm getting myself mentally ready in case I go through that nightmare again. But, it's a necessary evil. I really need to get some music off the Net.
