Hammond organ available - 08/19/19 05:11 PM

My 92 year old neighbor is selling her Hammond 125XL organ from the 70's. Great condition, and plays fine (I checked it out).
She is asking $350 or best offer.. Pick up only.

Now I own it smile

I found something I was not aware of... this model has a built in Leslie... No .. not a simulator but a real rotating Leslie.

Most entertainment Hammond organs had genuine Leslie's in that era, so not unique. (They were also included with the more expensive instruments of other manufactures from that era)

Have fun

That was funny! Especially liked the background music.last. The cabinet is probably the best part of that model Hammond, Now he should mount some stereo PA speakers in the bottom.

I can't believe I am going to say this smile

After playing the Hammond 125xl a bit... I have found it to be better than I thought.

If you play it as a basic organ, with no patterns and gimmicks..

Select upper keys with tibia tabs, set lower manual with tibia tabs .

And pedals with tibia.

Set a bit of reverb... and use the decent vibrato settings.
Now use the built in Leslie … It sounds pretty good..

The key feel is better than most today.. and the pedals are good. Expression pedal is smooth and responsive..

IF I can... I think I will try to wire an out put to go to my 15" 3 way cubes.. smile

My Father was my electronics repair guy... both musical instruments, and electrical work in my contracting business.. Shipping cost would be too high to send him any of my electrical needs smile

I would like to add a headphone jack that can double as an audio out to a external power speaker.

This organ does not offer a solution other than a mic'd speaker.

Any suggestions "how to" do this..

#1 I don't want to ruin the Hammond.
#2 I don't want to send a power signal to my external amps.

I would think I have to tap in before the pre amp? confused
