When they said June some time ago now, I expected sometime before the 10th not the 28th, May as well be July!. Mmm no real detail on what the update holds but i’m Excited as a Genos owner to find out! Any other news other than the published details, anyone?

Just my opinion it’s Yamaha’s marketing department playing us. I agree it may as well be July. I’m not expecting anything ground breaking that is unless they take the fine example that Korg demonstrated to us with it’s recent update to the Pa4x

So this means genos 2 is very far away?
Or if ever at all? Free updates don't make them money...

Yamaha keyboards in Genrmany (responsible for the arranger department) could and should learn so much from the Yamaha US Synth department where it comes to customer support, upgrades and communication..

Look around and you will see it applies to everything, not just music keyboards, and Yamaha is just filling a need that customers (And Potential Customers) expect.
As I have said before, Arranger keyboards are going the way of the old entertainment organs from which they came, (Heading for a niche market) and it is way cheaper to bring out updates (And promote it as the next best thing) then to bring out a new instrument which has a chance of not making them any (Or little) profit.
Arrangers have never been more than toys in the US, (Although they did dip there feet in the water with the Roland BK range (Which they inherited when Roland Italy closed down) which were cracking instruments) which is why they are miniscule in number compared to Europe and Asia, and hence the reason there is minimal interaction between them.
When it comes to Yamaha arrangers, as a rule of thumb, the hardware is Japanese design, the sounds/styles and OS is done by the UK and the features are done in Germany, (They also add additional sounds and styles to suit the European market) as there are many top music software companies available there. (Yamaha also own Steinberg)

There's only one improvement that would bring me back to Yamaha.
Their "AI Fingered" mode... since Y2K, pressing a single key sounds a unison (bass and 1+8). What were they thinking!?!

To get a major chord, you have to also play the major third above the root. This often requires repositioning your whole hand. It's inconvenient for fast chord changes, compared to the system used by other brands.

Doubtless some players have gotten used to it the current way. But Yamaha could create more flexibility with an option: "Single note produces unison" or "Single note produces major chord."

If they do this, I'll buy a Genos! But Yamaha are so stubborn and arrogant... I'm not holding my breath.
