Not me! smile Though I sincerely wish I were still able to be out there. Eddie has one of my Saint Patrick's Day vests, I think Steve may have one, and I may have sent one to Paul. Have fun out there guys and stay safe.

Right, Donny ... 26 years with the band in NY it was St. Pat's Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for about 5 weekends with the Holiday in between ... I'm not a corned beef and cabbage person, but I did enjoy the bagpipes and Irish Step dancers on those gigs ... BTW, did a girl HAVE to have tight curly hair to be a dancer? - seems like they all did ... wink

Today it is "Gaelic and Garlic" as my wife is making Corned Beef etc. etc. for her sister and Pasta and meatballs for me and my brother - in - law ... grin and my Sicilian sister - in - law makes the BEST Irish Soda Bread ever !!!

I must confess, the "Gaelic and Garlic" comes from a family dinner night our Pastor runs for the parish ... you can guess what the menu is ...

We will be doing our 4th Irish Jig ….. I mean gig, today at the restaurant.

We do a fair amount of Irish tunes, and of course Ella Fitzgerald tunes, since this is my singer's favorite artist. Ella did have an Irish heritage from her father's side.

Here is an article about Ella, and her appearance at the Cork, Ireland jazz festival. She had a very interesting life.

Played for brunch for an international company founded in Lexington by an Irishman; then, a 2 hour reception for the city, followed by my regular gig at a country club.

Re: Who's gigging St Patrick's Day..? - 03/02/20 06:25 AM

BACK TO THE OP
Combo St.Pat's/St.Joe's - Gaelic and Garlic - Irish Soda Bread and Zeppoles grin

I was originally asked to play for St. Pat's, but not being 'enamored' to play a full program of Irish music (and not sure I would have enough material), I suggested doing the combo and they loved the idea ...
Some times if you don't have what they want, you have to make them want what you have ... wink
