News about EMC StyleWorks - 10/23/18 02:31 PM

cool
Just in case someone is interested.

Quote from the website:

"Latest information
After a long delay we have now implemented support for the current Korg series Pa4x/1000/700 in all our programs along with the sound maps for Yamaha Tyros 5 and Genos.
Due to quite numerous request regarding the newer Ketron keyboards we will probably do an update for these instruments as well, but this will not become available before 2019."

End quote.

Current version is now 4.93.
A new update will be ready during next week according to a user at PSR Tut. (This will add the selection boxes for T5 and Genos that is missing at the moment)

When moving to Ketron..

There certainly is quite some YAmaha ad Korg styles i want to convert. Seems this is the only reliable way. I hopw they will soon support the SD90 version

Just thinking about it.
All the updates during the years, and that support from Klaus at EMC has been and still is free of charge.
The yearly cost has been quite low for me. I don't remember exactly when I bought the program,
but it's quite a lot of years passed by and thousands of conversions done since then.
Have to admit it's not much used the last couple of years, but it may be more interesting
after the current updates and compability to new models.
But, the times has changed, there has never been as much great styles and stuff in the market as it is today,
and the need for conversions, at least for me personally, is far less than ever. cool

why is creating your own styles on arranger keyboards still on the back burner in importance as it is the driving force of an automated arranger kb but yet hardly anyone create their own styles from scratch and manufacturers still refuse to make it an easy process year after year..

Good question Donny.
But to build real great styles from scratch is quite a big task.
I did a lot in my 'early Technics days', but never had any big success other than it did suit for many of our songs.
Ended up to mix and match parts beween different styles, and that was a far better process for me.
The Technics OS, composer and panelmemories was really great tools. cool

Ketron comes the closest SD7/9 etc to giving the player choices to mix and match different part way above anything else out there today IMO.
