Wersi Demo

Wersi Demo - 09/15/18 07:48 AM

I was at a Wersi Demo today at the dutch Wersi dealer Eric Bongers. First of i was charmed by the hospitallity, opneness and friendlyness i found there.. thats something hard to find and to cherish in todays world...

I am still charmed by Wersi’s OAX system..
And while everyone is enthousiast about the ui and touchsceen interface of The Genos..
But Wersi is truely next gen.. with its huge screen and 21st century interface..

Wersi styles have truely improved over time..
And in the future they plan to not just support older yamaha styles, but also genos styles..
Its also (oax1) the only arranger that supports a 2nd keybed, for organ style..

Sadly Wersi does not support a lower keybed with piano hammeraction..
But i got some nice info on how to build one yourself..
I even got offered a buildplan, for making it fully fitting,
According to Wersi’s own expansion keybed...

There are so many things Wersi does right...
And when you buy Wersi you know you can expect software updates for atleast a decade..

I was definately charmed by Wersi today..
And the organ section and accordeon section where just to awesome
And also the strings where out of this world..

Well they are featuring the new V2.00 software, which quite frankly is c***, with Naff sounds, (Even though they have supposed to have made them better) duplication of features and more bugs then in the Amazon Jungle, (Wersi were told about the bugs about 2 months ago (Not long after release) and they still haven’t done anything to fix them) so they are best avoided at present, (Unless they can provide you with the previous V1.51 software) and better to go for a Bohm (With Cloud Studio) or Bemore instead.
I have been a Wersi fan for a long time, but I wouldn’t wish the V2.00 software on my worst enemy.

Pictures of the event are on the Wersi Nederland’s Facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/Wersi-Music-Nederland-179124592167768/

Yes, definately pictures of this afternoons event, as i am in those pictures..

I disagree with you on Böhm..
Their styles are not on par with Wersi..
And the soundcloud is a very closed system
You can’t install your own vst’s..

Re: Wersi Demo - 09/15/18 01:09 PM

We are taking off our Ketron hat and putting on our Wersi hat. WAY back in January of this year we were asked to demo some of the accordion sounds available on OAX. Here's what we came up with.

A Few OAX Sound Demos

We are happy to report that Pascal did tell us he purchased a Wersi OAX instrument after hearing our demos. Hopefully, he is still happy with that decision regardless of OAX 1.x vs. OAX 2.x comments from many folks.

I agree about the Bohm styles (Although conversion of all Yamaha styles is available) however while this may be an annoyance for beginners or those coming from an arranger keyboard, (Hence the ability to use Yamaha Styles) once you start playing organ (Full manuals with pedals) you normally only use the drums and the odd style track, thus sophisticated styles are an irrelevance.

The Cloud Studio is a standard PC that is built into the instrument (Or a separate attached box on the smaller models) that uses the VST Host software that is already fully interfaced with the organ software, thus any 3rd party plug-ins can be loaded. (The system comes with Steinberg’s Halion 6 with Absolute 3 plus the basic Hauptwerk software as standard to get you started) All the standard computer connections are still available just as with any PC.

Wersi prices start umder €2000
The professional range at €7000
Thats for the 76 key oax1 with 13” hd screen
Its the only arranger in the world that comes precomfigured for adding a 2nd keybed
And the only arranger that natively runs vst’s
Its got a lifespan of 10 to 15 years with comtinous software updates..most of them for free..

If you buy a Genos and a pc with daw software and audio interface for running vst’s you pay more money...

The organ models are more expensive, but then this is the arranger keyboard forum..

Just to add, the OAX1 keyboard is part of the OAX organ range (It has the same software features and sounds as the rest of the range which tops out at around €34,000 for the 3 manual Pergamon) NOT a dedicated arranger keyboard, so the priorities are different, (It focuses more on live play features rather than accompaniment) however providing you remember this, you will soon get the hang of what it’s about without too much head scratching.

I'd say not boring but, more "OLD SCHOOL"
home wooden organ playerish style and many worldwide enjoy that style of music...
nothing wrong with that. Although setting up on gigs could be cumbersome if your alone eek2 .

It wasnt boring..
It was actually quite interesting
I was standing behind Thimo, and he explained what he did
And allowed everyone to ask questions
While there where other instruments available for customers yo jam away with headsets

I got quite some interesting answers...

- there where sold less then 50 oas. Pianos and expanders, thats why we will not see oax ones
- you can not have weighted hammeraction keys in the lower keybed, it just doesnt fit,,
- the owner of wersi Netherlands uses a ketron sd40 in combination with his wersi organ, as ketron styles and drums still blow away any other brand including the genos
- there will be support for yamaha genos stylesin a paid unlock expansion
- how easy it is to add more sounds tp a manual
- there is no way to assign parameters other then the standard to the sliders/drawbars

And much much more

With. Thius level of interaction between customers and thimo who is not only demoing but also part of the developmen team, how can that be boring?

Did you ever visit a wersi demo?

If it’s not the type of music you like or play then it will always be boring, (Just ask the number of people that just don’t get jazz) however using your on-screen name perhaps this https://www.wersi-hochrhein.com/mp3demo/19_SyntheSingleSounds.mp3 will be more to your liking. (There are also many other types of demos out there on Wersi so just do a search to see if any of them take your fancy)

Re: Wersi Demo - 09/18/18 06:31 PM

Let me rephrase, the Pegasus Wing looks to be a killer arranger but I haven't seen anything good as far as a demo and although musicstore bought that out they usually make the best KORG demos but when it comes to Wersi nothing spectacular anywhere on Youtube.
By the way I did start with a Kimball double tier organ and pedals although I did like that type of organ music, when I was young and didn't have many choices back then other then a synthesizer, yes! it's not my cup of tea, I am sure there are great players out there and I am not knocking it, to each his own I guess.
