NEWBIE PA 1000 QUESTION - 08/27/18 02:43 PM

NEWBIE QUESTION: How do I set and save to MY KEYBOARD SET on the PA1000?

I want to set a style and those four keyboard sets so that they will be my default setup. I guess that means also editing a style’s sets since they’re different from what I want. Thanks in advance.

First thoughts - Today was the first gig with the PA1000. It is not a Yamaha. I had to live with some resident presets because I haven’t had enough time to work with Keyboard and Style SETS. That aside, I was pretty much able to maneuver wherever I wanted. The sounds, styles and mic are FAR SUPERIOR to my s950. Even SMFs sounded bigger and bolder. The audience really seemed to be reacting to the new sound; they were very enthusiastic and made many positive comments during and after the set.

So, I guess there’s no going back. I have to place the Korg Paa1000 on par with the Roland G70 as far as impact on the audience. I preferred the G70 operating system, but in a few months I predict that I’ll have enough command of the Korg to name this my favorite arranger EVER.

Cass good luck I know you can do it......try to make the song book your main go to play list for everything.....and heres a don mason tip...

always use # 1 in genre category when your saving songs to songbook list.....WHY?......because then you can search for all your songs by genre they come up in alphabetical order with the # 1 ...all first on the list for easy access it's brilliant!!!......

Thank you, thank you very much (in best Elvis voice).
Actually I'm not sure if I thought that up or something made me think of it. But it sure does simplify things.
To elaborate, save all your Songbook entries as usual, but select Genre and change it to 1, or A or whatever you wish.
When you power on, press Songbook, Filter, Genre and 1, then Yes. All your Songbook entries will appear in alphabetical order.

I adopted that method too. I also have a categories for Patriotic and Christmas tunes using the numbering system. Works like a charm and I did get the idea from Mason.

For all the time I have owned a KORG, I have never done this ...
I generally use the 'GENRE' section to make little notes to myself, such as if I play a song in Eb and I'm working with the guitar player (Sal) who wants to sing it in Db, I will put 'S tsp -2' ... Or I might put the name of the artist or some other information in there ...
Going to have to think about adding some GENRE code ...
Thanks

You can use any of the fields to filter your Songbook. You can use Name or Artist, if you aren't already using them as intended.
