Trade?

Trade? - 08/04/18 06:37 AM

Although it's not a huge burden to set up my entire gear (2 speakers, keys, etc), I'm thinking of having a backup system for small jobs.

Maybe I'll revisit the 1000 to mirror the 4X. Maybe I'll check out the 970/75 or Roland contained speaker products also.

Anyone interested in trading something for my 3X (76)?

I will finally take my 4X live next week and retire, sell or trade the 3X.

I tried the Genos and I would not trade my 4X even for it, much less spend twice as much.
Donny, if you love it so much why don't YOU buy one? smile

If I am understanding correctly, Zuki would a keyboard with built in speakers for small events where his two speaker system is overkill.

Honest, I love my Genos more and more for each day it's getting powered up. (Not bad for an 'anti yammie' like me.) blush
In my ears, it's the best sounding arranger made by Yamaha till date, and as I see it today, it will not be swapped for any other arranger.
But, I will add a Korg PA4X-76 or the next TOTL Korg the day I'm in the mood to spend some money from my saving account just to please myself.
After that's done, I can not see any reason for me to replace any arranger unless it explodes or cannot be played any more .... laugh

Edit/Added:
The only thing I dislike very much is the 'plastic fantastic' feel when move or lift Genos.
There is no way it can be compared to G-70, SD1. Not even T4, those feels much more solid than Genos.
Yeah, it's light weight, but feels pretty cheap until you start it up.... frown

Yes, correct. Doesn't have to be brand specific either. In the mood to experiment.

Hi Zuki,
I had a T4 and a S970.
Now I have a Genos and S970 for smaller gigs.
Personally I think it is easier to stay with the same brand.
In your case the 1000.
Same OS, most same styles and voices, VH etc.
Much easier to built play lists and go back and forth ...
I thought about the 1000 a few times, but it would be a steep learning curve for me, starting from scratch etc.
The S970 is perfect for what it does for smaller gigs.
My main board is the Genos of course. smile
In your case the PA4X.
Good luck whatever you decide.
You can't go wrong with what's out there today ... wink

Good point! With the time, energy and $$ invested in the 4X, I'm going full stream ahead. It's still just ok, but I'm hoping once I get everything dialed in, the folks will like it.

Didn't care for the 1000, but maybe I'd change my mind.

Plus one to your comments. I have the Pa4x too and there’s no way I’m parting with that gem, I’ve written in the past I believe it has an edge on the Genos for live play. Not sure the how or why but since using the Genos I seem to be getting more positive comments and rebooking at gigs. Could be I’m spending quite a bit of time working/rehearsing. My wife who really doesn’t care what I have as an arranger commented a few times now, this Genos is the best one of them all.

Re: Trade? - 08/04/18 04:42 PM

Along the last several comments,,, I could never warm up to the Korg overall sound or the OS.
I have owned several over the years... If I was to pick the model I thought was best it would be the PA2x...

I don't like the harmonizer or the effects set up....

I absolutely dislike the PSR line .. PSR2100 was the last I owned and it was a terrible instrument. grin

From what I heard on youtube ..the Genos sounds way better than what I have heard from PA4x let alone the PA10000. smile

Between the over valued Korg and the over priced Genos … the Ketron looks brighter wink

Thankfully I am totally content and don't need to keep searching like some of you shocked
