Converting Ketron styles

Converting Ketron styles - 05/07/18 07:41 AM

I'm just finding out about EMC Style Works XT Software. It's quite expensive at this point (about $475 to be able to convert all...) plus looks like there could be a steep learning curve. I just want the capability to convert some .pat files from my Ketron X4 to my Audya 4 and possibly my MidJay Pro. Mostly, I can work with the available styles that the Audya comes with, but there are a few songs where I enjoy that certain intro and/or ending specific to that song. Is there any other less expensive option out there for someone in my shoes?
Any thoughts?

Even if use EMC at the first step seem easy enough, there is a lot of work tweak and adjust to make it sound any good.
Have you been at Ketron's website and downloaded all the style-converts?
If I remember it correctly, Ketron made a lot of, if not all, legacy styles ready to play at Audya.

Excellent looking out, but just recently received the Audya 4 which appears to already have those styles on board...
Thank you!!!

Anybody buy this? Supposedly has 9400 styles for Ketron Audya. Don't know if it's worth it...

If it's the same 'old shit' (sorry for the bad language), as all the bad 'internet conversion collections' for other brands
that has been floating at eBay and elsewhere for years, it's probably not worth it.
Of course you can be lucky to find a file or two that is reasonable OK, but mostly it's just 'raw conversions' between
different brands / older models legacy styles.
Imagine tweak more than 9000 styles for all the brands to make it sound good?? crazy

Hi,
An expensive way to go to convert a few styles. Can’t beleive there is no other way of doing it, most keyboards load earlier versions of a style. Have you checked with AJ if maybe there is some sort of software.
Unfortunately don’t really know anything about the newer ketrons, my last one was the
Sd1.

I do have EMC, some styles it does an ok job on, others almost not playable.
Used to do something weird to my sd1 styles, messed up expression control changes. I’d get jumps in volume on intros. May have fixed it in the meantime, this was quite a few years ago. I thought I could use EMC as a style editor, but quickly gave up on that idea.
