This $99 SDOD is amazing! Tried it out today and was blown away. So much expression, beautiful lows in close - love it. First time I've heard my vocals 'out front'..
They send me a Christmas card every year! It makes me so sad to see the brown truck drive by my house and not stop. If you think my music gear is bad, you should see my fishing and golf stuff!

I hope you never get back interested in photography, there's another money grab once you get hooked.
Yeah Steve, you're also in the 'club' , along with Bernie (who is on the Board of Directors ), and a few others. Donny is temporarily banned but we expect him to be reinstated shortly . Fran has a secret membership although Yamaha tried to vote him out.

Been looking at this lens. Makes music stuff look reasonable. $$$

Where at?
Too late. It was on Musician Friend's "Stupid Deal of the Day" page. STOD. Price only good for one day.
Still fooling with the Blue 300. It needs very little gain and sort of hard to control because of. But it's very expressive and the pronnounced lows just are something I wasn't able to achieve before.
Not sure if my Yahama MGO6X is the right mixer for it. For the 1st time this weekend, I'm going to try the mic in the 4X and see what happens.
I'm at work right now.. It sounded great for a couple of hours, then it started making a LOUD crackled sound every time I touched the cable wasn't seated, wasn't locking in place. I switched mics for the last few songs and will check it out later.

Last night I changed out the mic cable and it worked great. It is the most responsive mic I've owned. The gain is so hot it is a little tricky to get it adjusted, but once you do the lows are fantastic and the highs clear and transparent. It was a good buy. Especially at that price. Oh, and there is almost zero handling noise, indicating it is a well made mic. I do use an insulating mic holder though. Not an elaborate one, this one: https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/SP25--windtech-sp-25 I'm set up on a wooden bandstand and it's easy to get bass boom. I use pads underneath my subs too.
Don When using the Bose Compact approx 5 ft in back of me, my bass sounds to loud to me, but is fine out in the room. I am wondering is bass pads would help my perception, or diminish the bass throughout the entire hall.
I don't believe it changes the sound of the bass, but it helps keep the walls or floor from adding rumble to it. If that is helping the bass to sound too strong to you, then it will help. It sounds "tighter" to me when I use them.
Sounded great and the mic fits your voice nicely! What are you using for the harmonizer, as it sounds great too
I still cannot get a good sound on the PA harmonizer. I tried at home yesterday and quit after a couple corny results. My wife was actually laughing at me
Thanks guys. The vocal processor is T.C. Helicon Harmony M, a unit that is about 10 years old now. Zuki, I had no problem getting the PA harmonizer to sound good. Most of the time I just used one voice above for the harmony, but I tried several of them and they all worked fine. I do remember that if you tweak the harmony settings you must save it as a User file.
